Summit1g’s Gaming Chair: The Noblechairs HERO

You’ve been watching a lot of Summit1g streams lately and you’re really getting into it. You’ve also taken notice of his gaming chair, which seems so comfortable. You’d love to own a chair like that, but you have no idea who makes it. What gaming chair does Summit1g use?

Summit1g currently streams in the Noblechairs HERO. This is a mid-priced gaming chair with 4D armrests, a multitude of adjustments, and ergonomic features.

Do you want to learn even more about the Noblechairs HERO, including its features and pricing? Then you’ve come to the right place. In this guide, I’ll fill you in on all things HERO. I even have some gaming chair alternatives for your consideration.

Who Is Summit1g? Some Background Info

Before we get into all that fun stuff, I want to start by talking about the illustrious career of Summit1g, aka Jaryd Russell Lazar. Born on April 27th, 1987 in Orange County, California, Lazar became known for his Counter-Strike: Global Offensive gameplay. He was so good at the game that it was only a matter of time before he was getting offers to join pro esports leagues.

He eventually was a part of two teams, Mythic and A51. After a while, Summit1g decided to retire from playing competitively, but he didn’t stop gaming altogether. Instead, he moved on to streaming games like WarZ. He continued with CounterStrike as well, illustrating his skills to a bigger audience.

That audience became big pretty fast too! By 2017, Lazar already had more Twitch followers than Tom “Syndicate” Cassell, another very well-known Twitch streamer. Then, a year later, Summit1g outshined Riot Games, the makers of League of Legends, by surpassing them in the number of Twitch followers.

At that time, Lazar had the most followers on Twitch. It’s not surprising that by 2020, Summit1g had penned a multi-year deal with Twitch.

As of December 2020, Summit1g has 407.5 million views on his Twitch channel and 5.7 million followers. That makes him the ninth most popular steamer on the platform.

Summit1g’s Gaming Chair Features and Benefits

Now let’s get into the part I know you’ve been waiting for, more information on Summit1g’s chair! To repeat the information from the intro, Summit1g streams in the Noblechairs HERO

Noblechairs is a gaming chair manufacturer that produces such chairs as the ICON and EPIC as well as the HERO. What is it about the HERO that makes it Summit1g’s gaming chair of choice? Let’s examine the features now.

Sturdy Base

A chair is only as good as its base, and Noblechairs knows that. The HERO includes a sturdy but light aluminum base that’s got corrosion protection and powder-coating for greater durability.

Attached to the base are five nylon caster wheels that can roll across carpeting or hard flooring while staying equally quiet. Each wheel measures 60 millimeters and features a polyurethane coating.

The tough base allows the HERO to support users who weigh 330 pounds. Class 4 gas lifts within the chair, which are rated for robust safety, let you make all sorts of adjustments so this chair fits you comfortably.

4D Armrests

You use your hands so much when playing video games that your arms need a high degree of support from your chair. That’s why the HERO includes 4D armrests.

These PU-covered armrests are designed bigger so you can comfortably rest your forearms or elbows with plenty of room to spare. With textured grip surfaces, your arms will stay in place even if you work up a sweat while streaming.

The 4D adjustment settings give you the freedom to set the distance of the armrests to the seat’s base as well as the armrest angle, depth, and height.

Wider Seat and Backrest

The armrests aren’t the only part of the HERO that is wider than your average gaming chair. The backrest boasts more length and width so that when you lean back, you feel almost cradled by the chair. The seat surface is more sizable too.

Lots of Adjustments

Besides the 4D armrests, you can also set up your HERO in all sorts of other interesting ways. The rocking mechanism allows the whole chair to rock and tilt, the seat included! You can also tilt your backrest way back, starting at 90 degrees all the way to 125 degrees. If you feel like taking a quick break between streams, you’ll use this tilt feature a lot.

The seat height is another adjustment you can make so this chair is comfortable to use for hours.

Leather Options

Do you want a more economical gaming chair with PU leather instead of the real deal? That’s one option you have with the HERO. You can also order this chair with real leather or even a combination of materials.

Either way, the premium quality of the leather is a standout. The thickness of the real leather is 1.7 millimeters and the PU leather is 1.5 millimeters thick. Breathable through and through, the leather combinations both clean up easily yet resist water.

Appealing Aesthetics

When Noblechairs designed the HERO, they paid special attention to the details big and small. There’s a Noblechairs emblem sewn into the center of the chair as well as an embossed logo on the headrest. Diamond-patterned filigree stitching across the headrest and backrest are appealing as well.

You also have a lot of fun color combinations at your disposal. The default colors are all black, but for the PU leather HERO, you can customize your chair with color combos such as black with platinum white stitching, black with gold stitching, black with blue stitching, and black with red stitching. You may also be interested in the special edition designs, one for the game DOOM and the other for Fallout.

The pure leather HERO comes in black with black stitching or black with red stitching. The combination PU/vinyl hybrid is available in all black or in a brownish-red color called Java.

Ergonomic Support

I also have to talk about the ergonomics of the HERO, which aren’t lacking at all. The backrest has built-in lumbar support. When creating the backrest, Noblechairs used the human spine’s natural S-shaped curvature as the basis. Besides feeling more comfortable when leaning into the backrest, your weight distribution improves as well.

The headrest has memory foam that can learn what your head and neck contours are like and then conform to them. Cold-cured foam throughout the rest of the chair is plush so sitting for hours doesn’t leave you achy.

Where Can You Buy Summit1g’s Chair?

If you decide to proceed with your purchase, where can you shop for the Noblechairs HERO? Summit1g’s chair is of course available on the Noblechairs website. Here’s that link again for you.

Amazon also has the chair, but only in PU faux leather. You can purchase the HERO in black with black stitching or buy the DOOM limited edition chair.

How Much Does Summit1g’s Chair Cost?

Are you still making up your mind about whether you should buy Summit1g’s chair? Then you probably want to know how much the HERO costs.

When shopping on Amazon, the DOOM edition is $500 and the PU faux leather version starts at $573.

If you buy through Noblechairs directly, the price varies depending on whether you want PU leather, real leather, or a combination. The PU leather chair is $459.99 for the originals. The special edition chairs, including the Fallout chair, are $499.99 each.

Upgrading to real leather comes with a heftier price tag, as now the HERO costs $719.99 no matter the color. The hybrid chair is $529.

No matter which version of the HERO you choose, shipping through Noblechairs is always free.

Should You Buy Summit1g’s Chair?

You’d love to use the same gaming chair as your favorite streamer Summit1g, but is the Noblechairs HERO worth buying?

I think so. Noblechairs only manufactures gaming chairs, and while these chairs can double as office seating, the company understands the needs of gamers. That’s why there’s such an emphasis on wider, more comfortable seating and great ergonomic features. You also get a generous weight limit, 330 pounds.

Between the HERO’s lightweight aluminum base, cold-cured foam, and plush upholstery, this is a well-balanced, modern-looking gaming chair that should be trendy to use for years to come. The adjustment features are plentiful as well, including 4D armrests, which are still not yet a standard in all gaming chairs.

Price-wise, the HERO isn’t all that bad. If you don’t care about owning a premium leather chair, then you can buy this gaming chair for under $600. You don’t even have to pay for shipping, which is nice. Even at around $700, for a chair covered in real leather, that price is reasonable.

Alternatives to Summit1g’s Chair

Do you like having options? Don’t we all. You may be leaning towards owning the Noblechairs HERO so you can be a little more like Summit1g, but you’d like to see what else is out there. No problem! Here are three gaming chairs that are in the same vein as the HERO.

Secretlab Titan XL

A very close cousin is the Secretlab Titan XL. Secretlab Signature memory foam pillows may even surpass the foam-padded headrest of the HERO in terms of comfort. The Secretlab pillow can also learn the curvature of your head and neck and move with you. Further, it has cooling gel within, which the HERO does not.

The Titan XL includes 4D armrests as well, and while they’re not as large as the HERO’s, you can set them down, up, backward, forward, at a right angle, or at a left angle. The backrest can recline to the length of the chair, which seems like a bigger recline range than the HERO.

You can also easily adjust the lumbar support depth and cushion settings with an included backrest knob. The seat itself is covered in a Secretlab cold-cure foam that’s firm yet soft at the same time. The firmness is to maintain your posture.

An XL aluminum wheelbase features Class 4 KGS pistons for adjusting the chair height. The PU casters are extra-large yet won’t destroy your floors as you roll about.

The Titan XL is a wider, larger chair, so you get that benefit too. While this Secretlab chair doesn’t have a real leather option, you can select from SoftWeave fabric or Prime 2.0 PU leather. All this for a chair that’s under $600!

DXRacer Racing Series

Best Value
DXRacer Racing Series
$329.99

DXRacer is one of the most popular gaming chair brands out there. It offers adjustable armrests, tilt-rocking capability, angular backrest adjustment, and Height adjustment.

Buy on DXRacer

I also recommend the DXRacer Racing Series, which is even more inexpensive at about $300. This HERO replacement features tilting up to 135 degrees, a reclining backrest that can lean between 90 and 135 degrees, tilt-rocking, height adjustments, and angular backrest adjustments. Admittedly, the armrests are 3D instead of 4D, but they’re comfortably padded.

The durable base has a Class 4 gas lift as well as racing-style PU caster wheels. Each wheel can spin 360 degrees so you can glide across a room with ease in this gaming chair.

If you want ergonomics, the DXRacer Racing Series has ‘em. The molded shaping foam throughout the backrest hugs your body. The backrest is also taller for more support, and you have dual lumbar and headrest cushions emblazoned with the DXRacer logo on top of that.

The PU leather comes in several color combinations: all black, black with white accents, black with gray accents, or black with red accents.

AKRacing Core Series EX

Best Fabric
AKRacing Core Series EX
$420.27

The AKRacing is one of the best fabric gaming chairs offering excellent comfort and premium materials, while still keeping the price relatively low.

My last chair suggestion is the AKRacing Core Series EX, which also happens to be an Amazon’s Choice product. This Summit1g-worthy gaming chair is made with a tough steel base complete with corrosion-resistant powder-coated paint. Reinforcement belts throughout the frame come with the promise that this chair will be usable for 10 years at least.

The Core Series EX can hold 330 pounds just like the Noblechairs HERO, and it too has a Class 4 gas lift. The adjustment features are rocking and tilting.

The armrests, also 3D, can rotate to several sides and move back and forth and down or up. They do not lock in place though.

Cold-cured foam throughout the chair promotes ergonomics and proper posture, as does the headrest pillow and lower back pillow. These pillows are adjustable so you can custom-fit your Core Series EX.

Rather than PU leather, the Core Series EX includes fabric upholstery designed for breathability and durability. The upholstery comes in colors like black and blue, red and black, black and blue, black and red, or all black.

The AKRacing Core Series EX costs about $300.

Conclusion

Hugely popular streamer Summit1g uses the Noblechairs HERO, a fairly affordably-priced gaming chair. You can customize your HERO by selecting between PU leather or real leather, and if you’re a fan of the games DOOM or Fallout, you can get officially-licensed limited edition chairs for those two titles.

Whether you’ve decided for sure that the HERO will be your next gaming chair or you’re considering one of the three alternative chairs I recommended, you’ll soon be ready to stream like Summit1g!
