Hi there! I’m Dan and I’m the found of the founder Chair Insights. Let’s face it, most of us spend most of our days in an office chair whether we’re working at a corporate desk job or a sweaty gamer.
Been there, done that!
I think I typically spend about 12-16 hours in my chair every single day! (I know, it’s not the healthiest, but I’m working on it 😕 )
Despite spending so much time in an office chair, I never really paid attention to what type of chair I was sitting in. Up until this point, I’ve always just sat in cheap, rinky-dink chairs that I found at Target for under $50.
And as you’d expect, I suffered from chronic back pain all throughout my life (strange, who coulda guessed).
Then, in 2020 with the pandemic happened and I started working from home full-time.
At this point, I decided it was time to invest in an actual good office chair.
The only problem was that there were literally a million options out there. It was so overwhelming that it was nearly impossible to find the right chair.
After trying several gaming chairs, executive chairs, and ergonomic mesh chairs, I ended up splurging on a Steelcase Leap office chair.
And let me tell you, it was probably the best investment I’ve ever made.
I tried at least 10 chairs before finally landing on the right one that fit all of my needs. I spent hours and hours researching online reading review after review and still struggled to find the right chair, despite the positive reviews that I saw.
Throughout this tedious process, I learned a ton about the nuances of office chairs and what specific things you should be looking for. Since office chairs are such a subjective thing, you really need to experience a lot of different chairs to actually understand what separates a $100 chair from a $1,000 chair.
After finally finding the perfect chair for me, I decided to start Chair Insights to share everything I’ve learned about buying an office chair. Since starting the site, I’ve had the opportunity to own and test hundreds of different chairs from nearly every notable brand including Herman Miller, Steelcase, Haworth, Secretlab, and more!

At Chair Insights, our mission is to help you find the perfect chair for your specific needs and budget. Nowadays, most of us spend the majority of our days sitting in an office chair. As a result, we believe that a good office chair is one of the most invaluable investments you can make to promote a healthy posture and prevent pain long term.
Editorial Standards
Finding the right office chair isn’t easy. It’s right up there with finding the right mattress! Since comfort is completely subjective and people have different body types and preferences, recommending the right chair to someone is NOT an easy task.
We take our editorial recommendations very seriously and take pride in our ability to provide the best information possible to educate and ultimately make the buying process as painless as possible.
At Chair Insights, our team is dedicated to providing in-depth reviews and buyer’s guides to help you find the perfect chair for your specific needs.
At first, I personally wrote every since guide on Chair Insights based on my personal experience and knowledge of chairs. However, as we’ve scaled the site up, we have added to our editorial team in order to provide as much value as possible.
That said, I (Dan) still personally review every piece of content that goes up on the site to ensure it meets our high editorial standards.
