Amazon doesn’t allow you to select the cylinder height or chair size. Their chair does feature the XL caster wheels and comes in a white and black color scheme. 

How Much Does Tfue’s Chair Cost?

You’re gearing up to buy Tfue’s gaming chair, but before you do, you have to know one thing. How much does the Commander S cost? The base price is $479, which is quite affordable if you’ve read some of my other articles on gaming chairs used by famous streamers.

Keep in mind that if you want to add more custom features to the Commander S, the price will increase. For instance, to customize your chair with your name embroidered on it, that’s $39.90. It doesn’t cost you extra to select a color though.

The premium armrests are $59.90. Choosing a cylinder height does not come at an additional cost, but that’s not true if you want to upgrade your chair’s base. Switching to an HD base alone costs $79.90. With the XL caster wheels included, that’s $109.90.

Let’s say you wanted every custom feature Maxnomic offers. How much would the Commander S be at that point? It’d cost approximately $658.70 with just the HD base and $768.60 with the HD base and XL casters.

Should You Buy Tfue’s Chair?

Now it’s time for the most important question of all. Is Tfue’s gaming chair right for you?

There are certainly a lot of benefits to be had with a gaming chair like the Commander S. As I talked about earlier, Maxnomic produces only gaming chairs, not office chairs, so they know which features gamers prioritize the most. Their chairs are high enough quality that a bevy of esports leagues use them, and in an official capacity to boot.

The Commander S is a well-built chair that can only become heavier-duty if you’re willing to pay more. Even all the default features–including the aluminum base, cold-cured foam, and PU leather–are sufficient for the everyday gamer and streamer. 

That you can get your name embroidered on the chair can further your brand, and the color variety is pretty good too. I also like how inclusive the Commander S is, with four different seat sizes for all varieties of gamer. I want to repeat what I said before. The much-loved Herman Miller Aeron only has three chair sizes while the Commander S offers four. Remember also that the Aeron costs more than twice that of the Commander S.

You also don’t see customized gas lift cylinders in a lot of chairs, including gaming, office, or otherwise. That further adds to the inclusivity of the Commander S.

There are a few downsides. Some users might find the aluminum base and PU leather kind of cheap, especially if you have used a chair like the Aeron in the past. 

You also have to decide if you’d rather buy a budget gaming chair with good enough features or pay more money for premium features. Adding all those custom features to your Commander S can make it expensive fast, so be careful! 

Alternatives to Tfue’s Chair

You may not be sure if the Maxnomic Commander S is for you. While you weigh your options, what other chairs are like Tfue’s? I found three alternatives to consider. 

DXRacer Racing Series Gaming Chair

The first of those alternatives is the DXRacer Racing Series Gaming Chair. At first glance, it’s very easy to mistake this for the Maxnomic Commander S. It too is made of PU leather, although it has mesh panels throughout for breathability (something lacking in Tfue’s chair).

The high backrest is another similar feature. Besides just the one head pillow, DXRacer includes a lumbar support pillow. Both are emblazoned with the brand’s logo. 

This gaming chair adjusts in a multitude of ways, such as the chair height, recline, and tilt locking. The armrests are adjustable too, but they’re 3D instead of 4D. 

Caster wheels, each two inches, and the nylon base are plenty sturdy without you having to pay extra, which is always nice. The DXRacer Racing Series Gaming Chair costs about $300, so it’s cheaper than the Commander S. 

Homall S-Racer Racing Style Gaming Chair

It boasts a wide seat so more gamers can use it, and the large array of adjustments let you set this chair how you want it anytime. With five caster wheels, you can travel swiftly yet silently.

Swivel 360 degrees, raise or lower the seat height and the armrests, lean the backrest between 90 and 170 degrees or rock the chair. The seat and back come with extra padding for ergonomics, and dual lumbar and head support pillows also make sitting in this chair a more comfortable experience. 

Those pillows, like the rest of this GTRacing chair, are covered in PU leather. The chair can support 300 pounds.
