What Gaming Chair Does Myth Use?

A friend introduced you to Myth’s streams a few years ago and you’ve been watching regularly ever since. Myth has actually inspired you to start doing your own streams. You’d love to game in a chair just like his, but which chair does Myth use for all his streams?

Myth currently uses the Vertagear Triigger 350. Before upgrading his chair, Myth favored a custom TSM-branded Vertagear SL2000, so he’s always been a fan of the brand. It’s no wonder considering the Triigger 350 includes exemplary ergonomics, tilt locking, and real leather. 

Myth’s Gaming Chair: The Vertagear Triiger 350

You haven’t heard of Vertagear, admittedly, but you’re about to become a whole lot more familiar with this manufacturer as well as the Triigger 350 chair. Ahead, I’ll talk about the features of Myth’s gaming chair, where you can buy it, how much it costs, and whether it’s the right chair for you. 

Who Is Myth? Some Background Info

Before I get into more details of the Vertagear Triigger 350, let’s discuss the man himself, Myth. Born Ali Kabbani on May 24^th, 1999 in Dearborn, Michigan, Myth made a YouTube account in 2013. It would be three years later in 2016 that his streaming career got underway on Twitch.

At the time, Myth streamed primarily a multiplayer game from Epic Games called Paragon, which you can’t play today. His streams did good enough, but once Kabbani streamed Fortnite Battle Royale in 2017, he started tasting massive success. By the start of 2018, Myth’s Twitch followers were already in the 200,000s. Before the year ended, he had 3.2 million followers on Twitch.

Like any talented gamer, Myth got approached to be on esports leagues. Today, he’s part of Team SoloMid with Juan “CaMILLs” Camilla, Darryle “Hamlinz” Hamlin, and Daequan and acts as the team’s captain. He’s also had gamers like Summit1g and Pokimane on his streams, two streamers we’ve talked about on this blog.

As of December 2020, Myth’s YouTube account has 331 million views and 4.62 million subscribers. His Twitch account has amassed 138.1 million views and 7.2 million subscribers per January 2021 data.  

Myth’s Gaming Chair Features and Benefits

Yes, Myth is a streamer whose name lives up to his reputation. He needs a gaming chair that’s just as mystical as him, which is why Myth only streams Fortnite and other titles in the Vertagear Triigger 350. 

He’s used other Vertagear chairs before, which makes sense considering Vertagear calls themselves “the leader in the best gaming chairs.” Their chairs include those in the S-Line (SL2000, SL4000, and SL5000), the P-Line (PL1000, PL4500, and PL6000), and the Triigger Line (the Triigger 275 or 350).

Pleather? Please! The Triigger 350 is made from the real deal, legit calfskin leather. Vertagear uses what they call “advanced” techniques in areas like stitching, cutting, and designing the fine-grain leather. Soft like butter but maintaining its shape throughout, you can enjoy the luxurious experience that is sitting in the Triigger 350 each time you go to start your streams.

Mesh Where You Need It

Leather, as beautiful as it is though, isn’t always the most breathable material. That’s why Vertagear adds DuPont reinforced thermoplastic polyester elastomer or TPEE mesh throughout the Triigger 350. This textile mesh is built for years of use. It should retain its shape and is capable of withstanding hydraulic motion and extreme temperature changes.

Tough Screws

When it comes to gaming chairs, who pays attention to the screws, right? You will once you sit in the Triigger 350. Vertagear only uses class 12.9 screws, which are about the most durable you can get in a product that isn’t military-grade. You shouldn’t have to worry about this chair falling apart on you.

Hardy Frame

As if the upholstery and screws didn’t tell you, the frame of the Vertagear Triigger 350 is made to last too. This gaming chair features an aluminum alloy frame that isn’t heavy yet can still handle everyday use. 

Locking Caster Wheels

Four Holtron caster wheels are included with your chair. Each caster is 3 inches or 75 millimeters and comes hub-less with a metal ball bearing within. The ball bearing promotes the longevity of the casters and helps them glide seamlessly across the floor. Per caster, you get 154 pounds of weight support.

Oh, and did I mention the caster wheels can lock in place? Once you find a comfortable position for your streams and you know you won’t want to move for a while, you can lock your Triigger 350 and the chair won’t roll an inch. 

Adjustments Galore

The freedom to adjust your gaming chair is a must so you can stream in comfort. The Triigger 350 shouldn’t disappoint, as it’s rife with adjustment features for nearly all parts of the chair. 

The armrests are multi-directional with contouring and cushioning for cradling your arms for hours. You can adjust the armrests in two different directions, up and down or front and back. Tilt tension is adjustable courtesy of a lever that you rotate clockwise or counterclockwise. 

How deep do you want your seat? That’s up to you in the Triigger 350. With the push of a button, you can set the seat depth forward or backward so you sit up straighter or sink into the chair for a bit of relaxation between streams. 

Further augmenting your comfort is the recline angle adjustability feature. The backrest can lean back 33 degrees with adjustments through the left armrest. You can also lock the recline in 22 positions, which is crazy. Whether you want the subtlest of reclines or you wish to lean all the way back, you can lock the recline your way.

I’m not done yet! You can also switch the height of the chair through the right armrest. According to Vertagear, it takes 0.32 seconds to raise or lower your seat thanks to the class 4 gas lift. 

Great Ergonomics 

Vertagear calls the Triigger 350 an ergonomic wonder, so you have to expect some good ergonomic features. Indeed, the 350 Headrest Sc is packed with memory foam and coated in silver linen and coffee fiber for comfort and support. Anti-odor and antibacterial, the headrest adjusts into positions like nod, extend, or swing. Whether you’re sitting up straight or you’re in a more relaxed position, you still get the ergonomics you need.

Multi-directional lumbar support lets you set the back frame angle, a unique adjustment that should make a big difference in your playing comfort. 

Where Can You Buy Myth’s Chair?

Okay, so those are the features of Myth’s gaming chair, but where can you shop for the Vertagear Triigger 350? 

Like you’d expect, Vertagear has the Triigger 350 available on their website. Here’s the link for you again. Vertagear’s site offers Affirm monthly payments, which I’ll talk about in the next section.

If you’d rather shop on Amazon, you can pick up the Triigger 350 there as well. Unlike the Vertagear website, which only has the Triigger 350 available in all black, on Amazon, you can get it in red and black. That’s because this is the 350 Special Edition.

I also found the Triigger 350 on Office Depot, but again, only in black. 

How Much Does Myth’s Chair Cost?

It’s great that you can buy Myth’s chair from so many of your favorite retailers, but for how much money? That depends on where you get it. On Vertagear’s website, the Triigger 350 is $799.99. Unlike some other gaming chairs, all the features come standard, so the price is very much a case of what you see is what you get. You don’t even have to pay extra for the premium leather.

As I said I would, I want to talk about the Affirm payment plant through Vertagear’s site. If you’re approved to use Affirm, you can pay for the Triigger 350 in affordable monthly installments of $71. The APR rate would be between 10 and 30 percent.

On Amazon, it’s $950 for the Triigger 350, but remember that’s the special edition version, so it makes sense that it’s costlier. At Office Depot, the chair retails for $899.99, although I’m not sure why it’s about $100 more expensive than shopping through Vertagear’s website. 

Should You Buy Myth’s Chair?

Hmmm. You’re feeling a bit torn. You quite like the Vertagear Triigger 350, maybe you even love it, but you’re not sure if you should take the plunge and buy it. Let’s look at some of the pros and cons of the chair to help make your decision easier.

Myth chose an awesome gaming chair, that’s for sure. The Triigger 350 has a timeless look and adjustments aplenty. Mesh panels are there where it counts, such as the whole back of the seat and on the seat itself so if you get a little worked up when playing games, your chair won’t stink in a matter of weeks.

Let me just say that real leather in a gaming chair is pretty rare. Most chairs use PU leather, which suffices, but it can’t beat the real deal. 

The adjustability of this chair is also very impressive. I’ve never heard of a gaming chair that has 22 locking positions for reclining. That’s a level of detail any gamer should like. You can also set the seat depth, chair height, tilt tension, armrests (to a degree), and even the level of lumbar support.

The Triigger Headrest Sc is quite a unique feature in my opinion. It can move three different ways for headrest adjustments, and it’s antibacterial so it will resist odors. Headrests aren’t something that always gets a lot of attention in gaming chairs, but Vertagear made an impressive headrest.

Even the casters should get acclaim. Rather than just being there, the Holtron casters are designed with a “futuristic appearance” with metal ball bearings for rolling smooth and supporting more weight. 

I do want to mention a few downsides to this chair as well. First, I’m not sure if the Triigger 350 armrests are even 3D let alone 4D. If anything, I think they’re 2D armrests. 

For some gamers, 2D armrests might provide enough arm support for hours of playing at a time, but more adjustment features in a gaming chair’s armrests are always better than fewer. The Triigger 350 doesn’t have them even though it offers adjustments elsewhere. 

The recline locking is great, as I said, but the recline radius is a little limiting. You can only recline to 30 degrees. Most chairs let you recline at least 90 degrees, sometimes even 130 degrees. If you don’t plan on leaning back and watching a movie or taking a nap in the Triigger 350, then this is no big deal. To others, it could be an issue.

Finally, the black on black color scheme of the Triigger 350 might be boring to some gamers. This chair also lacks Vertagear logos, so there’s nothing clearly differentiating it from another gaming chair. 

The high price could almost be a dealbreaker, but remember that when shopping through Vertagear’s website, you can use Affirm monthly payments to break the cost down into manageable chunks. 

Alternatives to Myth’s Chair

After weighing those points, you’d like to see some other chairs like Myth’s. I’m here to provide. I have three chairs that share many of the features of the Triigger 350 but are different enough that they’re very much worth considering. 

Secretlab Titan XL

First, there’s the Secretlab Titan XL, which I’ve talked about a lot on this blog lately. This chair is covered in logos so when you go live on camera sitting in it, none of your viewers can confuse the Titan XL with another gaming chair like they can with the Triigger 350.

The Titan XL does not feature real leather, but it’s made with Secretlab’s own PRIME 2.0 PU leather. This is more than your average PU leather, as it boasts at least four times the strength. 

Extra-sized caster wheels give the Triigger 350 wheel a run for their money. 

Multi-tilt settings, which Secretlab calls “heavy duty,” move with your body as you switch seating positions. You should get a greater tilting radius out of the Titan XL than the Triigger 350, and the chair tilt locks too. 

A backrest cushion with lumbar support features is customizable, as you can adjust your level of support with a knob near the backrest, which is a nice touch! The Titan XL Series costs $480.

DXRacer Racing Series

If you’re looking for a chair that’s a little more affordable, try the DXRacer Racing Series for under $350. This gaming chair has a backrest that tilts from 90 to 135 degrees so you can lean way back. The armrests are about as adjustable as the Triigger 350’s, but you can tilt rock, which is something that Myth’s chair does not feature.

The DXRacer has a tall backrest with molded foam for supporting your back. A lower back ergonomic pillow with the DXRacer logo should also ward off back pain. For your head, a second pillow with contouring ought to keep you comfy. Both ergonomic pillows are removable. 

AKRacing Core Series EX

My third recommendation is the AKRacing Core Series EX, which also just so happens to be an Amazon’s Choice chair. For under $350, this gaming chair is a great value. Move your armrests in more ways than ever with 3D adjustments that can rotate the arms from side to side, back and forth, and up or down. 

Unlike the Triigger 350, the Core Series EX is covered in fabric. It also doesn’t have tilt locking, but rocking makes up for that. Lumbar support pillows, an extra tall headrest/backrest, and cold-cured foam make using this chair comfortable.

If you want colors, you’ve got ‘em! The AKRacing Core Series EX is available in all black, blue with black accents, black with blue accents, black with red accents, or red with black accents. 

Conclusion 

Famed streamer Myth has always been a fan of chair brand Vertagear. He recently switched to the Triigger 350, a gaming chair renowned for its ergonomics and impressive range of adjustment features. 

It’s a solid chair that’s not overly expensive. The lower-priced alternatives I recommended could just be better suited for you, but either way, I’m confident you’ve found your next gaming chair!
