Dr. Disrespect was born Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV on March 10^th, 1982. Before he got into streaming, Beahm was an NCA Division II basketball player for California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Five years later, he began posting videos of himself playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. 

In 2011, Beahm got into video game design as he worked for Sledgehammer Games as its level designer. He put together some of the levels in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which is a pretty cool achievement!

Yet Beahm knew his calling was streaming, and so in 2015, he pursued that career full-time. His character, Dr. Disrespect, wears a tactical vest with an athletic shirt, trademark sunglasses, and a mullet wig. Beahm’s mustache is his own. 

In 2019, Dr. Disrespect became a part of Creative Artists Agency, a talent agency. The next year, he penned a deal with Twitch that’s good for several years. He’s also working on a memoir to come out in spring 2021.

As of January 2021, Dr. Disrespect has 212 million channel views and 3.25 million subscribers.

Before you proceed, you need one key piece of information. How much does Dr. Disrespect’s chair cost? The T80 is $699. The chair on Amazon includes dark gray mesh and fabric. Shipping is free. If you wish, you can add a protection plan to your purchase. 

If that’s the route you go, the 3-Year Indoor Furniture Accident Protection Plan is $76.99 and the 5-Year Indoor Furniture Accident Protection Plan costs $109.99. That would make your total purchase price somewhere between $775.99 and $808.99. 

Should You Buy Dr. Disrespect’s Chair?

It’s so cool knowing which chair your favorite streamer Dr. Disrespect uses. That said, you’re not completely sure if this is the right chair for you. Allow me to sum up some points that might help make your decision a little easier. 

The SIDIZ T80 prioritizes comfort at every turn. You get more advanced tilting features than you’d find with even a gaming chair, let alone an office chair. Between the Ultra Sync Tilt, Synchronized Tilting, and Multi-Limited Tilting on top of the tilt tension settings, you can easily switch between sitting stick-straight, leaning back a little so you’re relaxed for gaming, or even tilting way back for a nap.

Breathable fabric is a godsend for gamers since your chair won’t get sticky and stinky as fast. The tall headrest is a nice touch, but what’s even better is you can set the headrest and neck rest heights for ergonomics that support your body. This chair has so many gaming-friendly features that you almost won’t believe it isn’t a gaming chair.

Not only does the T80 reduce pain through ergonomic features, but through promoting better posture with the seat slope and sliding features. The memory foam seat is also made for long periods of use.  

The years of design research and care put into the creation of the T80 shows that every last feature was given fair attention, from the caster wheels to the armrests and headrest. It’s a quality chair and a favorite of Dr. Disrespect. He had been using the Maxnomic XL Series chair for a while, which is a gaming chair, yet he gave it up for the T80.

Those are the upsides of the T80, but I have to talk about a few cons as well. First, one of the most glaring omissions is the lack of 4D armrests. Again, the T80 isn’t a gaming chair, so the 3D armrests aren’t overly surprising. Not even all gaming chairs have 4D armrests yet, but they’re becoming more standard.

For some gamers, 3D armrests are more than fine, but 4D armrests have even more adjustment settings so you can customize the fit of the armrests. They’re the preferable option if you can get ‘em. I wouldn’t say the 3D armrests are a dealbreaker though.

What may be a dealbreaker is the price of the T80. At $700, this is not a cheap office chair. You’d need a pretty significant budget to afford Dr. Disrespect’s chair. 

Another small issue is that you don’t really get a lot of color options with the T80. It comes in one color, gray. Again, some gamers won’t care about that, but if you’re going for a certain theme or aesthetic with your streaming room, you might want a more colorful chair. 

Alternatives to Dr. Disrespect’s Chair

Would you prefer not to shell out $700 for a chair? Is your budget perhaps even bigger? Maybe you’re just curious about your other options. No matter how you answered these questions, I have three alternatives to Dr. Disrespect’s chair I want to share with you now. Each chair has similarities to the SIDIZ T80 while being unique chairs in their own right. 

Raynor Ergohuman

My first alternative is the Raynor Ergohuman. If you like the tilting features of the T80, the Ergohuman has tilting galore. You can also lock this chair three ways for sitting up, leaning back, or fully reclining. Set the seat depth of the Ergohuman too, which is like the T80’s sliding and sloping feature. 

Many of these adjustments happen thanks to the pneumatic cylinder within the chair for raising or lowering it. The rest of the chair is made of nylon (the casters), polypropylene, chrome (the chair base), and mesh. Most of the Ergohuman, up to 97 percent, is recyclable so you can feel good about using it for streaming all your favorite games.

The Raynor Ergohuman comes in lots of colors, including black, gray, green, copper, burgundy, and blue. Depending on the color, this chair costs $699 to $845.  

Secretlab Titan XL

Another great chair for your consideration is the Secretlab Titan XL. The long backrest is ideal for reclining, and the Titan XL can dip almost all the way back for taking a relaxing, restful nap. 

Two memory foam pillows will make your use of this chair more comfortable whether you’re napping or gaming. Each pillow, a Secretlab Signature product, features dense foam for firm support that still molds to your head or body. The pillow for your head has a gel coating for keeping your body temperature down.

If you wish Dr. Disrespect’s chair had 4D armrests, the Titan XL does. These metal armrests can move down, up, backward, forward, at right angles, at left angles, or simply right or left depending on your preferences. You can even customize one armrest at a time. Both armrests are padded with soft PU material and have a concave shape.

Lumbar support knobs let you set your level of ergonomics. The cold-cure patent-pending foam mix is also for your comfort. Secretlab covers the Titan XL in its own PRIME 2.0 PU leather, which is designed for durability, especially when compared to regular PU leather. If you’d rather your chair be fabric, choose Secretlab’s SoftWeave fabric.

Herman Miller Aeron 

Is the breathable mesh your favorite feature of the T80? Then you’ll like my last chair recommendation, the Herman Miller Aeron. Just to be completely upfront, this chair is far more expensive than the T80, retailing for $1,395.

Should you have the room in your budget, you’ll quickly discover that the Aeron is one of the best office chairs that money can buy, if not the best. This is the same chair that put Herman Miller on the map back in 1994 and is still in the Museum of Modern Art to this day. 

You can customize the casters (for a fee, of course) so they’re adept at rolling on hard surfaces, carpet, or both. Each caster measures 2.5 inches and includes Herman Miller’s quiet roll technology for making less noise during your streams.

The armpads, which are more 3D than 4D, are polyurethane and padded with foam for arm support and comfort. Herman Miller’s PostureFit S features are top-of-the-line ergonomics, allowing you to set the backrest positioning. With PostureFit, your posture will naturally improve as your pelvis is forward, your chest is more open, and your back is upright.
