Build Quality

Budget chairs are typically correlated to poor build quality. That’s because manufacturers use low-quality materials that aren’t strong or durable. As a result, they’re susceptible to wear and tear. However, the Sihoo office chair is built with relatively high-quality materials that last a long time. Not to mention, they offer a generous three-year warranty to protect you from potential damages.

The chair is constructed with a five-star polished aluminum base that is designed to be lightweight and strong. Consequently, it has a high weight capacity that is above industry standards. Based on its material, the base should last at least 5-10 years.

Furthermore, the seat cushion is highly dense, meaning it’s packed with tons of bubbles to ensure that the shape of the foam doesn’t deform easily. Standard foam cushions tend to deteriorate easily, which loses their ability to provide pressure relief to users.

In addition, the Sihoo chair has passed the BIFMA test, meaning it’s approved for safe and ergonomic use. BIFMA is a third-party organization that promotes safe working environments by checking office furniture products. The chair undergoes a series of tests to determine how sustainable, functional, and safe the product is. Office chairs that have been BIFMA-approved mean that the chair is likely to decrease work-related injuries and increase the user’s productivity.

Ergonomics

An ergonomic office chair is designed to be comfortable and efficient for users to perform tasks while seated. Chairs without the right support and adjustments can lead to chronic back problems, hip pain, neck strain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and more.

The Sihoo office chair offers various adjustable options for users to customize their seating experience to fit their needs. One of the unique ergonomic features the chair has is the optional footrest. A footrest encourages more movement and changing postures. Furthermore, it increases circulation in the lower body, which helps to prevent lower-body stiffness and numbness aches in static muscles.

Sihoo chair seems to offer unique adjustable options for every part of the body. Users can adjust the headrest by height and angle. As a result, your neck is supported and the muscles don’t have to strain while working.

Adjustability

If you’re looking to maximize your comfort and productivity, it’s important to evaluate a chair’s adjustable options. Everyone has a different build; some people have longer legs, while others have a longer torso. The goal is to find a chair that can adjust to meet your needs.

Height Adjustment

The seat height adjustment is integral to ensuring that users remain in a healthy sitting posture that optimizes focus and health. A seat height that is too high may cause you to hunch your back and neck, which leads to excessive strain. In contrast, a seat height that is too low makes it difficult to concentrate on the task at hand. Generally, the seat height should ensure that your feet are planted on the floor, and the arms are parallel to the desk station. Also, your eyes should be relatively in-line with the monitor screen.

Users can adjust the seat height on the Sihoo office chair by pushing down or pulling the lever located below the seat. The seat height ranges between 17 and 21 inches from the floor. Unfortunately, there isn’t a height recommendation for this product. Based on the BIFMA’s recommendations, the seat height of 17 inches is ideal for an individual who is 5’3” tall, while 2 inches is ideal for an individual who is 6’6” tall. Therefore, we can safely conclude, the Sihoo chair is suitable for most height ranges. However, it may not be an ideal chair for shorter individuals, especially below 5 feet.

Backrest Adjustment

Research has shown that changing your sitting postures throughout the day can help reduce pain and avoid injuries. Sitting in an upright posture puts our back muscles to work, however just like with all muscles, we need to give them a break.

Sitting in a reclined position helps to decrease pressure in our lower back, spine, and hips. Furthermore, it removes pressure build-up and increases circulation throughout your body. Users can also take a quick nap when in a reclined position and recharge both mentally and physically. The Sihoo office chair lets users recline between 90 to 125 degrees, and it can lock into three positions. Specifically, users can lock the position at 110, 116, and 125 degrees.

Armrests

Armrests keep your forearms relaxed and in an optimal position for typing and writing. Furthermore, it prevents your shoulders and neck from straining since it won’t have the burden of keeping your arms up.

Ideally, an armrest should have plenty of adjustable options. For example, premium office chairs can adjust the armrest up or down, forward or back, left or right, and pivot their angle. Some chairs can even adjust to a complete 360-degree angle.

Unfortunately, the Sihoo office chair only features height-adjustable arms. Height adjustment in the armrests is essential because they allow the arms to remain parallel to the desk and prevent your risk from straining, which leads to carpal tunnel syndrome.

Seat Pan Depth Adjustment

Seat depth adjustment is when you’re able to adjust the seat pan forward or back. This accommodates both tall and short users to prevent the blood flow circulation from cutting off behind the knees. In addition, a properly adjusted seat depth helps to ensure users receive adequate back support. Unfortunately, the Sihoo ergonomic office chair doesn’t offer a seat depth adjustment. However, many other office chairs in the budget price range also don’t offer this adjustment.

Lumbar Adjustment

Most office chairs offer either no lumbar support or one that is clunky. Lumbar support aims to fill the gap between the chair and your back. The spine has a curve in the lumbar region. Without the lumbar support, surrounding muscles work harder to keep the back upright. However, lumbar supports that are positioned correctly help, effortlessly hold your posture up, allowing your back muscles to relax.

The Sihoo ergonomic office chair offers a two-way adjustable lumbar support system meaning it can be adjusted by height and width. This lumbar support can be adjusted up or down by 2 inches and forward or back by 1.2 inches. Depending on the length of your torso, you’ll need to adjust the height of the lumbar support to fit the curve of your spine. The depth adjustment lets you control how much support you need. Some people prefer more pronounced support, while others want something more subtle.

Comfort (Seat, Back, and Arm)

Comfort is typically subjective; however, there are some features that Sihoo incorporates to enhance comfort. This chair has a “W type” high strength sponge cushion to reduce the pressure when sitting. In comparison, a hard seat places a lot of stress on your hips and buttocks. This pressure relief allows you to relax and sit for long periods without any discomfort.

Sitting in a heated chair can make you sweat and cause discomfort. Mesh upholstery allows ventilation and airflow, meaning air passes through the chair and eliminates sweat. The Sihoo office chair uses a mesh upholstered back to keep you cool throughout the workday. Since sweat passes through, you won’t feel sticky, and odor won’t form. Furthermore, mesh material tends to be more flexible and supportive than other upholstery options. It can better bend and flex as you fidget in your chair, which provides dynamic support.

The armrests on the Sihoo chair have padded PU coverings to reduce the amount of pressure placed on your forearms. As a result, it helps them relax and won’t cause pain after long hours of sitting.

Value

Despite the chair’s minor flaws, such as having a height-adjustable armrest or only reclining up to 125 degrees, the value of the chair still exceeds the cost. Sihoo offers excellent ergonomic features that are found in more expensive chairs such as the two-way lumbar adjustment, adjustable headrest, and optional footrest. These adjustments separate the Sihoo chair from its competitors.

SIHOO Ergonomic Office Chair Review: Policies and Additional Info

Before you jump and purchase the Sihoo chair, it’s helpful to know the policies and what it’s like to assemble the chair. You never want to be caught by surprise. For example, budget chairs may offer no warranty or the assembly may not have essential tools like a hex wrench.

Shipping

Since Sihoo chairs are sold strictly on Amazon, customers who have prime membership can receive the chair potentially in two days, depending on their location. Non-prime members may receive them within 4 to 6 days. Fast shipping times create a great experience with customers.

Assembly

The assembly of the Sihoo office chair was quite standard. They came with all of the tools and parts needed. Not to mention it came with a handy instruction guide, which included the steps and pictures to guide you through the assembly process.

The package even included white gloves to prevent your hands from getting dirty, since some parts had slight grease on them.

Warranty

Most budget office chairs only provide a one or two-year office chair warranty. However, the Sihoo chair promises a three-year warranty. The longer warranty protects you from potential accidents that may be out of your control. Typically, most chair manufacturers including Sihoo will cover defects that may arise out of normal use. For example, if the mesh broke apart after only sitting a few hours a day, you could have the chair replaced under the warranty policy. However, the manufacturer won’t likely replace things that could be considered as misuse, modifications, or outside the scope of normal use.

Return Policy

Since Sihoo only sells its chair through Amazon, the fulfillment and return fall under Amazon’s return policies. They allow the product to be returned within 30 days of receiving the chair. That means you’ll have 30 days to try it to see if you like it. Creating a return is as simple as creating and printing a return label, packing everything in the original box, and shipping it off.

The chair offers high-end features such as the customizable lumbar system allowing you to personalize your lower back support and prevent back pain.

One of the hallmarks of an ergonomic chair is its capability to support changing postures. The Sihoo office chair offers an optional footrest that extends outward and is well-padded, allowing your feet to rest. Furthermore, it prevents leg stiffness and aches. Even the headrest has height and angle adjustability to reduce the chances of neck strain.

SIHOO Ergonomic Office Chair Alternatives

There are hundreds if not thousands of office chairs to choose from. Rather than be bogged down by choices, we’ve picked out three worthy competitors that resemble their price range and features. Depending on your preferences and needs you may want to consider them as well.

On the surface, the Sihoo office chair and Duramont chair look nearly identical. However, are a few minor differences worth noting. Duramont offers a 2D armrest meaning it can be adjusted up or down and forward and back. In addition, the backrest has a tilt-tension adjustment.  The tilt tension knob allows you to decrease or increase the amount of resistance needed to make the chair recline backward.

Another distinction is the wheel casters. Duramont features the rubber rollerblade casters,,chair’s value, which run more quietly and smoothly across all surfaces. Since there aren’t any plastic components on the wheel, it won’t damage your hardwood floors. Duramont also offers a five-year warranty compared to a three-year warranty that Sihoo provides. It’s quite difficult to pick a winner; however, we still would choose the Sihoo chair considering it has the optional footrest available, while the Duramont does not.

SIHOO Office Chair Vs Staples Hyken

Staples Hyken Technical Mesh Task Chair

The Staples Hyken is a budget mesh ergonomic chair that offers solid build quality, adjustability, and comfort at an entry-level price.

The Staples Hyken is one of the most popular budget options in the market. Like the Duramont chair, there are several differences such as the mesh seat, waterfall seat edge design, 7 year warranty and slight modification in dimensions.

Although cushion seats tend to be more comfortable, the seat can be prone to trapped heat. The Staples Hyken offers a fully mesh upholstery including the back and seat. As a result, users don’t have to worry about sitting in a warm seat after hours of use. In addition, the water seat edge prevents the seat from cutting off circulation behind the knees and allows blood flow to your legs.

In addition, Staples offers an impressive 7 year warranty, which beats nearly every warranty we’ve seen from budget chairs. Despite these differences, we still prefer the Sihoo chair over the Hyken. That’s because the Sihoo has a wider range of adjustability in the lumbar system, a soft seat cushion and has an optional footrest. However, for users who prefer a cooler seat, the Hyken is a great choice.

SIHOO Office Chair Vs Ticova Office Chair

Ticova Ergonomic Office Chair

The Ticova Ergonomic Office Chair gives you everything you love about mesh office chairs, while also having a dense foam seat for maximum comfort and support.

Sihoo and Ticova are two brands only sold on Amazon. Ticova offers a couple of advantages compared to the Sihoo. It’s biggest benefit is the 3D armrest allowing users to adjust them up and down, forward and back and left and right. More adjustability means you can easily maneuver around your workstation along with multiple tech devices,

In addition, Ticova has a thick 3 inches of cushion along with a waterfall seat edge. As a result, we believe the cushion feels slightly more comfortable than the Sihoo chair.

Sihoo office chair does offer a longer warranty and higher weight capacity. The Ticova chair provides only a one year warranty and supports up to 280 pounds. If you want to save a little money, Ticova can provide nearly the same benefits. Though, Sihoo still beats out Ticova in our eyes due to its optional footrest.

The Bottom Line

With so many office chairs available in the market, it can be difficult to separate the good from the bad. Luckily, Sihoo ergonomic office chairs are among the select few chairs that provide plenty of high-end features without the high price tag. Its constructed with durable materials to ensure longevity and has features to promote safe and efficient use. If you’re someone who experiences back, neck, hip, or tailbone pain, the Sihoo chair is an excellent choice. We hope that our in-depth review has helped you decide whether this office chair is right for you.
