The search to find a mid-budget gaming chair is not always an easy one. You tend to come across many cheap chairs with poor reviews that make you think twice about your current budget. There’s no need to reconsider when you can shop chairs like the RESPAWN 110. For around $200, you can get a faux leather upholstered chair made for gamers like you.

It’s always helpful to do your research before you commit to a chair, and that’s what I’ve done for you in this review. Ahead, I’ll talk about the RESPAWN brand, the features and specs of the RESPAWN 110, and what I like and dislike about this chair. 

In case you decide at the end that may be the RESPAWN 110 isn’t quite the gaming chair you’re looking for, I’ll have a few alternatives that might be more up your alley. 

About RESPAWN Gaming Chairs

RESPAWN is the maker of the RESPAWN 110. The company is a newer brand, established in 2017. According to the RESPAWN website, their staff has many years of experience in office furniture production. Theirs are gaming chairs rather than office chairs, and the company manufactures desks as well.

RESPAWN 110 Gaming Chair Review Highlights:

The RESPAWN 110 gaming chair is a moderately-priced gaming chair that features impressive 4D adjustments, deep reclining, faux leather upholstery, lumbar support pillows, and a retractable footrest covered in PU leather.

RESPAWN 110 Gaming Chair Review: Our Insights

Build Quality

For a mid-priced chair, the RESPAWN 110 is well-built and sturdy. I couldn’t find any information about the base material for the chair, but it looks like it’s a combination of metal and plastic. The five-star base is encased in plastic, and the caster wheels seem to be either plastic or polyurethane. 

The RESPAWN 110 is definitely padded, but the information on its padding is surprisingly sparse. The padding itself is not sparse though. Underneath the bonded faux leather upholstery is padding at the seat, the backrest, and the headrest. The headrest is augmented even further with a detachable faux leather pillow. The pillow features the accent color you selected as well as the RESPAWN logo stitched into the center.

A second pillow at the base of the chair is also color-blocked but has no logo accent. It too is covered in faux leather. Like other gaming chairs, the RESPAWN 110 features elastic bands at the base that you can use to lower or raise the lumbar support pillow. If you adjust the pillow too often, the bands can stretch, making them less effective.

Even the armrests of the RESPAWN 110 are padded and covered in faux leather, and the same goes for the retractable footrest. Some gaming chairs with footrests feature very little padding so using the footrest isn’t comfortable like it should be. That’s not an issue with the RESPAWN 110. 

Ergonomics

The ergonomics of the RESPAWN 110 are good for what you pay, but I wouldn’t say they’re anything spectacular. Let’s start from the top of this chair down. The abovementioned head pillow–which is wrapped around the headrest of the chair with an elastic strap–is intended to cradle your head for less neck pain when gaming for hours. It does its job efficiently enough, but it’s not outstanding for ergonomics.

The adjustable backrest pillow can support your lower back, mid-back, or even your upper back by sliding the elastic straps. The RESPAWN 110 also includes segmented padding throughout the back that’s contoured for back support. 

RESPAWN adds padded contoured armrests so you can comfortably rest your arms without aches and pains that can stop your stream in a jiffy. The footrest lets you rest your achy legs and feet. As I mentioned above, the padding within the footrest will make using it enjoyable.  

Compared to the majority of gaming chairs on the market at this price, the RESPAWN 110 has about the same level of ergonomics. However, once you get a taste of higher-priced office chairs with more advanced ergonomics, you might want more than what the RESPAWN 110 has to offer. 

Adjustability 

The RESPAWN 110 has a lot of adjustments, which is fitting since this is a gaming chair. RESPAWN says the chair has 4D adjustability. 

You can promote more dynamic movement by rotating or swiveling an expansive 360 degrees. I do want to reiterate what I said before, and that is that despite that the RESPAWN 110 has 4D adjustments, the armrests themselves are not 4D. You cannot move them left, right, or even up and down. They just “pivot,” which is the exact term used by RESPAWN.

You do get an impressive degree of tilt control. You can recline the RESPAWN 110 between 90 and 155 degrees and lock the chair at any of those positions in between, giving you infinite possibilities. 

Although the lack of armrest movement is disappointing, especially in a gaming chair, the recline options more than make up for it. You can switch from sitting up completely straight to leaning all the way back for a nap and then lock the recline in place. That gives the RESPAWN 110 greater versatility, as you can use this chair for tasks like working, watching movies, and relaxing in addition to gaming. 

Comfort (Seat, Back, and Arms)

The RESPAWN 110 is quite a comfy chair. This chair is foam-padded just about everywhere, from the headrest to the backrest, the seat, and even the armrests and footrest. It would be nice to know more about the foam that RESPAWN uses in their gaming chair, but I couldn’t find that information on Amazon or RESPAWN’s website. 

The ergonomics come into play here too. Even if you choose to discard the head and back pillows, the contoured and segmented padding at the back, when combined with the foam throughout, makes for a comfortable sitting experience. 

The armrests, despite that they don’t adjust, are foam-padded, and that’s not something you come across all that often in gaming chairs. As for the quality of the bonded PU leather, I have no complaints. The leather is soft and doesn’t feel like it will crack if you apply a bit of pressure to it. 

However, one thing that you don’t get in the RESPAWN 110 is mesh paneling. Sure, the chair has openings at the back right above the headrest pillow, but that’s not really enough to allow airflow in and sweat out. If you’re having a particularly intense gaming session, this chair might get a little sweaty. 

Value

For the little you’re paying for the RESPAWN 110 (remember, it’s about $200), this is a great gaming chair. The upholstered retractable footrest is especially impressive at that price point, as is the degree of recline as well as the highly-functional recline lock. 

The RESPAWN 110 has a modern look that will appeal to gamers, and with multiple accent colors available, you’re not stuck with a stuffy-looking chair like you are when you buy some office chairs. The RESPAWN logo is featured front and center on this chair so you can clearly and proudly rep your favorite gaming chair to your streaming audience. 

RESPAWN 110 Review: Buying Experience

Shipping

At current, RESPAWN says they only ship to the contiguous United States, which goes for the RESPAWN 110 as well as any of their other gaming chairs or desks from the brand. The contiguous US excludes Hawaii and Alaska, but the other 48 states in the US are fair game for shipping. However, that does not include PO boxes. 

RESPAWN says on their support page that “all orders are eligible for free standard ground delivery.” Shipping costs for the RESPAWN 110 will generate upon checkout. Also on the support page, RESPAWN mentions that it ships orders from the RESPAWN warehouse in up to two business days, sometimes in as little as one business day.

Once your order is processed, you’ll get a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number. The tracking information email will be sent 24 to 48 hours after your purchase. 

Assembly

The RESPAWN 110 includes between five and six pieces in the box. The package ships without Styrofoam, so if handling Styrofoam is uncomfortable for you, you won’t have to worry when putting together the RESPAWN 110. All pieces are bubble-wrapped to preserve their integrity and prevent damage.

Pop-out tools, bolts, and screws come in the box so you have everything you need. The screws are lettered so you can easily find which ones you want when it’s time to use them. That’s helpful considering that screws tend to look the same. 

It may take you 10 to 20 minutes to assemble the RESPAWN 110, which is not bad! 

Warranty

RESPAWN offers a Limited Lifetime warranty on the RESPAWN 110. The warranty covers the seating provided you use the chair normally. Normal use of the chair according to RESPAWN is using it five days per week for eight hours at a time and weighing no more than 275 pounds. 

The seat warranty is good for the life of the gaming chair. The warranty does not extend to covering the chair materials as well as texture and grain color-matching or color-fastness. 

The other exclusions are as follows: no warranty protection on COM fabric, two years for any moving parts (including gas lifts, casters, and other chair mechanisms), and two years on materials and fabric.

RESPAWN will take care of labor and transportation fees so you don’t have to. If you rent your RESPAWN 110, it was damaged in shipping, or it was damaged for the reasons ahead, you get no warranty protection:

Return Policy

Should you want to return your RESPAWN 110, contact RESPAWN up to 30 days after the chair arrives at your doorstep. You need to indicate to RESPAWN why you want to return your chair as well as provide your order ID. Then RESPAWN will get back to you and provide further information on returning the chair.  

Your original payment method will be refunded, which can take three business days to appear in your account. 

Should you get a defective or damaged chair, reach out to RESPAWN to start a damage claim within the next 24 hours. You’ll need the materials that came with your chair, including the tags, product manual, packaging materials, and the shipping box. 

RESPAWN 110 Alternatives

If you’re still unsure about the RESPAWN 110, that’s okay! Here are three great alternatives to consider before you make up your mind. 

RESPAWN 110 vs. Secretlab OMEGA

The first RESPAWN 110 alternative is the Secretlab OMEGA. The 2020 OMEGA features PRIME 2.0 PU leather, a type of faux leather that promises more durability than normal PU leather as well as softness for hours of use at a time.  

If you wish the RESPAWN 110 had 4D armrests, the OMEGA does. These Secretlab armrests are concave with PU padding and can move down, up, backward, forward, and at various angles for the kind of adjustability, the RESPAWN 110 lacks. 

Secretlab’s signature memory foam pillows include a cooling gel layer for maintaining your body temperature when you’re trying hard to beat the big boss. The pillows contour to your body for a customizable fit. Improve your seating experience with OMEGA’s full-length backrest that tilts 165 degrees. You also have a multi-tilt mechanism and Class 4 hydraulics for raising and lowering the chair.

I want to talk about the lumbar support as well, as the OMEGA has adjustment options via a backrest knob. This customizable support is better than the RESPAWN 110’s ergonomics, I’d have to say. 

RESPAWN 110 vs. GTRACING

A close cousin of the RESPAWN 110 is the GTRACING gaming chair. Much of the same features are back, including headrest and backrest pillows, PU leather upholstery, a retractable footrest, and a five-star base. 

I like this chair because it has more ergonomic features than the RESPAWN 110. The seat and back are extra-padded to better support you, the frame is sturdy to support upright seating, and you have removable ergonomic pillows. 

RESPAWN 110 vs. Ficmax

The third RESPAWN 110 alternative I want to talk about is the Ficmax. This esports gaming chair may look like another cousin of the RESPAWN 110, but it has some considerable differences. 

For example, the Ficmax can support more weight, up to 350 pounds. It also features rocking in addition to swivel and tilt features. You can tilt up to 180 degrees. The lumbar pillow comes with a USB connection so the pillow can massage you. Although users have said the massage feature isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, it’s still an option you don’t get with the RESPAWN 110. 

The memory foam throughout learns the shape of your body and then molds to you for a chair that fits you like a glove. The wheelbase and framework are all metal, and the Ficmax also features Class 4 hydraulic pistons for making adjustments. 

The Bottom Line

The RESPAWN 110 gaming chair is a solid option if you’re not looking to spend too much money on a chair and if you don’t care if your chair is made of real leather. If you’re looking for 4D adjustments, you’ll be impressed, but if you want adjustable armrests, the RESPAWN 110 does not deliver. Its ergonomics also leave something to be desired, although that’s common of most gaming chairs at this price point.

More information on the RESPAWN 110 would be helpful, such as what this chair’s padding and base are made of. I don’t doubt it’s a sturdy, well-built chair, and I’m sure it’s plenty comfortable, but it’s hard to say these things for sure without that kind of information.

The best feature of the RESPAWN 110 by far is the recline range with a locking recline. The padded, faux leather retractable footrest is another nice touch.

If you need a quality gaming chair on the cheap, the RESPAWN 110 shouldn’t disappoint!
